Women are smarter, more complex
Beth on Yellowstone (great character and performance) the barrel riders, the lone woman on the ranch (fantastic Jen Landon as Teeter), all great female characters who fit naturally, flawlessly into the world of the story. They are strong and convincing. Not only 'partner…' or T & A. He stepped up his game with the great character Faith Hill, crushed in "1883" he was followed by Dame Mirren in the 1923 fire. Now we have Zoe Saldana doing some of the best work of her career.
What about the face!
I really bought her as a CIA boss in an open marriage (nice touch). I buy De Oliveira as a broken woman with a burning rage who won’t give up, and thank you, thank you, thank you to the writers/directors/producers for not letting her get the best of her fellow soldier with an extra…hundred pounds of muscle. Honesty first! I think her character is much more interesting if she has to be out cold or just stunned on the ground before she leaves. Now let’s talk about Jill Wagner, should I talk about her hair?

From schmaltzy Hallmark dreck to super crazy special forces? Special mention: Mrs. Lanier as the nasty teenage daughter. I’m looking forward to this loose canon arc as long as they continue to avoid the cliche of teenage angst. Good actor, may be interesting…
