French At the 1965 Newport Folk Festival, a young Bob Dylan shook up the folk music scene by switching to electric music and making rock the voice of a generation — defining one of the most transformative moments in 20th-century music. According to an October 2020 Collider interview with cinematographer Phedon Papamichael, the Bob Dylan film project was set to be put on the back burner due to the studios’ recently announced COVID precautions. And that’s why Papamichael and director James Mangold are moving on to other projects. “I don’t think he’s dead,” Papamichael said of the Chalamet-led biopic, “but it’s hard to make in the COVID era because it’s all set in small clubs with a lot of period costume extras, so you have a lot of hair and makeup.” Our next project is actually Indiana Jones 5 (2022).
